The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid 5-star Luxury Hotel Review
Madrid, Spain is filled with color, food, music, and art. The liveliness of the city and its people can be heard from the sounds spilling onto the streets from the traditional Flamenco dance and can be smelt by local Spaniards enjoying mouth-watering tapas complemented with a glass of fresh sangria. This historic capital is filled with great green space such as the Buen Retiro Park that travelers can leisurely enjoy the fresh air and Spanish sun while being amongst the local community. Madrid is also home to world-class art museums. Most famously referred to as the Golden Triangle of Art, visitors can easily marvel at what's considered the world finest European art collection at the Prado Museum, stare in awe at the legendary work of Pablo Picasso at the Reina Sofia Museum, and witness one of the largest private collection of art in the world at the Thyssen Museum.
The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid was a highly anticipated addition to the city as its the first Four Seasons in Spain. A project that consumed over 8 years of planning, the city and the Four Seasons Madrid committed to investing millions to turn 7 historical buildings into the central landmark that this property has now become for Madrid. Opening their doors roughly 6 months ago, this property is part of a much bigger story. Until recently, Madrid lacked the amenities to attract the luxury market that cities build upon. Sadly, Madrid for many travelers was merely a flyover city, only serving as a connection to other destinations. The erection of the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has re-energized the capital city and has brought in a new wave of investment that has benefited the local community and economy. The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has helped put Madrid on top of the list of European cities that must be visited and as COVID restrictions relax, we at Travel by Connections put our full support behind the Four Seasons Madrid and the wonderful city it shines upon.
Hotel Rooms and Accommodations
The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid offers guests a wide selection of room options. With 200 spacious rooms, you have connecting rooms, rooms with spacious terraces, and options with views of the city. The design of the hotel adopted a contemporary feel with a perfect balance of sophistication that wraps you in a world of luxury that one expects from the Four Seasons brand. The architects intentionally built and designed the rooms with a sense of spacious openness. For example, one of our favorites is highlighted here, the One-bedroom Suite. Walking in you are welcomed with an open-air two-level room and high reaching ceilings. Guests will get a sense that they are in a penthouse apartment with a view of Madrid.
Of the 200 rooms, there is a limit to the number of rooms that offer a terrace. Although this is an exclusive amenity, one of the several benefits of booking through our agency is the preferred treatment you will expect to get from our partnered properties. Hosting small parties on one of their spacious terraces is a common option as the hotel can provide private dining options and entertainment.
Rooms are meticulously cleaned given the importance of hygiene in our world today. Our stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid brought us great assurance that as our clients, you will sleep well with no worries about the cleaning procedures that their staff take very seriously in all areas of the property. In each room, guests have face masks provided and their own hand sanitizer. Hotels have never been cleaner than they are now!
The suite collection is undoubtedly one of the most impressive that we have highlighted on our channels. The two-bedroom suite invites guests in with a warm living room, a perfect option for those traveling with a large family or friends. This room has connecting options along with private options within the suite to allow a small party to feel comfortable with a sense of separation for the sleeping area.
The most luxurious and spacious option is provided to guests with their Royal Suite which is an impressive 400M2 of jaw-dropping space along with 5-meter tall ceilings. Set in the tip of the hotel property on the second floor, this space used to serve as the executive offices and meeting space for a historical bank that used to occupy this building. Construction of the Royal Suite is still underway but we are able to offer you a sneak peek of the Royal Suite bathroom, incredible!
Four Seasons Hotel Madrid Pool and Spa
Nothing is better than throwing on a plush robe and soft slippers and making your way to the pool and spa area. The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid offers a beautiful pool which is kept at a nice warm comfortable temperature. Rest assured the hotel takes every precaution needed to make guests feel safe and welcomed in their pool area. For example, we were asked to let the staff know ahead of time when we were planning to come and they were able to prepare for our arrival. The pool is staffed and can take drink orders, offer extra towels, or whatever else guests may need while escaping from the busy streets below their feet.
This property also provides a gym equipped with all the latest workout equipment along with 8 treatment cabins that are all located in the same area. It's truly a one-stop-shop to re-energize, rejuvenate, and step out with clear mental space.
One element of this pool that is particularly enjoyable is the amount of natural light that dances into the space. This pool also has a spacious terrace with couches and chairs. Perfect for conversation, taking some sun, or reading a compelling book. This terrace comes with an awesome view of the city below!
When we first walked into the Four Season Hotel Madrid guests are met with smiling staff and a living lobby that is filled with guests enjoying a finely crafted cocktail, local pastries, or an appetizing meal. The El Patio is front and center and was once the setting of the historical bank interior. A perfect option for those wanting to be in the action or a place to meet your travel companions for a coffee and snack before strolling the streets of Madrid. The El Patio is open for all dining services throughout the day.
The Dani Brassier set on the 7th floor, looking over the city, and is one of the most enjoyable features of the property. The menu offers guests traditional Andalusian cuisine and the mastermind behind it all is celebrity Chef, Dani Garcia. Dani Is a worldly decorated chef and he achieved his coveted third Michelin star to the Dani Garcia Restaurant. We found ourselves constantly being pulled to this area of the hotel as it was a pleasure to start our day with a full fresh breakfast. Later in the day enjoying a cocktail during the Golden Hour while a DJ plays soft music in the background, and finishing our evening by tasting the flavors of Danis dishes complemented with a glass of wine.
The third dining experience is Isa, an intimate club-like atmosphere that combines traditional Spanish cuisine with a twist of Asian flavor. This restaurant is still under construction and is set to open its doors to guests soon. Another feature that will add such value while guests stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.
Recommendations and Tips
We were not joking when we said that we couldn't separate ourselves from the Dani Brassier Rooftop restaurant! While there we got to know some of the staff as their service was exceptional and it was a treat by itself to simply discover who they are and their stories. Throughout these conversations, it became more clear that one of the magic ingredients behind the client experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is the unspoken heroes that provide a level of service that can be appreciated by simply observing.
During these conversations, we kept being asked if we had tried their Dani Burger. On our last night, we ordered this mysterious burger and was completely blown away. This by far is the best burger we have ever had. Composed of matured simmental loin, foie gras & parmesan and with a sauce that cannot be matched. Our recommendation is to find your way to the rooftop, order a glass of wine, and pray your night never ends while being present to all the flavors that can be crafted between two buns.
